Inception
Brief development, site analysis, and feasibility study to establish the project scope, budget, and programme.

Concept Design
Spatial proposals and design options tested iteratively through sketch, 3D model, and client workshops.

Planning
Pre-application engagement with the local authority and full planning submission — including heritage, conservation area, and design-and-access statements as required.

Technical Design
Building control drawings, material specifications, and tender documentation coordinated with structural engineers and other consultants.

Construction
Tender process, contractor selection, and construction administration through to practical completion and close out.
BIM-First Design
Macro Micro Architects adopts a BIM-first approach, initiating every project with Building Information Modelling. This means creating a 3D digital model intentionally cut to show plans, elevations, sections, and 3D information.
Originally developed for coordination and clash detection, we have refined this process using visualisation software to test design iterations — focusing on geometry, materials, and lighting. Client collaboration is enhanced through shared visuals, providing a comprehensive preview of the architectural aesthetics well before construction commences.
