Retrofit and extension of a four-storey Victorian terraced house in the Ravenscourt and Starch Green Conservation Area, bringing a late 19th-century home into the 21st century through a sustainable, light-filled approach.

Retrofit and extension of a four story victorian terrace in the Ravenscourt and Starch Green Conservation Area.

We're delighted to be appointed to renovate and extend a late 19th-century Victorian terraced house on Ravenscourt Road. The project aims to carry the home into the 21st century through a long-term, sustainable approach.

The house has not been refurbished since the late 1960s and is now in need of significant modernisation.

The brief places particular emphasis on natural light and a strong connection to the outdoors, delivered in a practical way to suit the needs of a growing family.

A retrofit strategy is proposed for the building envelope, with a focus on achieving high standards of insulation, airtightness, and mechanical systems. The project is located in the Ravenscourt Park and Starch Green conservation area in the London borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. Particular attention will be focused on restoring the front of the house to add harmony and cohesiveness to the row of similar period homes.
